Recovering from a cardiac event is about more than physical healing. It is also about rebuilding confidence, learning how to care for your heart, and feeling supported every step of the way. For Bill Perkins, that support came through Cardiac Rehabilitation at Bates County Memorial Hospital.
After completing the program, Bill shared how the experience helped him regain strength and take control of his heart health in a setting that felt encouraging, personal, and positive.
“Bates County Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program offered me more than just medical recovery. It provided a warm, supportive environment where patients like me feel truly cared for.”
Cardiac Rehabilitation at BCMH is a medically-supervised program designed to help patients recover after a heart attack, heart surgery, or other cardiac event. Participants receive individualized exercise guidance, education on heart-healthy nutrition, and lifestyle coaching tailored to their specific needs.
Bill credits the program’s team for creating an atmosphere where patients feel both challenged and encouraged.
“Andrea, who supervises and guides a highly professional and compassionate team, has created an atmosphere where participants receive expert exercise training, nutrition education, and lifestyle coaching tailored to their needs. The staff’s friendliness and constant positive encouragement helped me stay motivated and confident throughout my journey. I not only regained strength and improved my heart health, but I also formed lasting friendships with staff and others who shared a similar experience.”
By the time he completed the program, Bill says the results extended well beyond physical improvement.
“After successfully completing the Cardiac Rehabilitation program at BCMH, I felt a deep sense of accomplishment, improved well-being, and joy in knowing that this team helped me take control of my heart health. The entire experience was life-changing, uplifting, and fun.”
Today, Bill encourages others recovering from a cardiac event to consider Cardiac Rehabilitation at BCMH.
