Infusion Center

Our Infusion Center is named for Curtis W. Long, MD and his nurse assistant of over 40 years, Gay Nissen, RN. Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Long and other generous donors, patients can access essential cancer care and infusion services close to home.

The Long-Nissen Infusion Center provides expanded space for cancer care services and other therapies at BCMH.

Patients can expect:

  • A private or semi-private room
  • Comfortable recliners with heat and massage controls
  • Seating for a visitor in each room
  • Dedication to infection control with a whole-unit air filtration system that sanitizes 99.9% of airborne bacteria with a push of a button
  • Experienced, qualified care from chemotherapy and immunotherapy certified nurses
  • Compassionate, individualized care
  • A comfortable, calming treatment space close to home

Infusion Services at BCMH:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Immunotherapy
  • Allergy Injections
  • Outpatient IV antibiotic therapy
  • Injections and infusions for various disease processes
  • Preventative medication management

Oncology appointments with Heather Dains, NP are also held in the Long-Nissen Infusion Center.

Patients can ask to speak directly to a nurse about any questions or difficulties. Call 660-200-7071 and select option 4.

Registration, Parking and Entry Directions

The Long-Nissen Infusion Center is located below the Emergency Department (ED) at BCMH. For your convenience, registration for your infusion center appointment takes place in the ED.

  • Parking is available in the South parking lot by the Emergency Entrance.
  • Register for your appointment in the Emergency Room (second window).
  • After registering, take the elevator down to the Infusion Center on the lower level.
