Community Impact

Foundation fundraising helps provide scholarships for local students pursuing careers in health care and supports charitable projects that benefit Bates County Memorial Hospital and the community it serves.

In 2026, BCCHF awarded scholarships to six Bates County residents enrolled in various health care fields of study.

Infusion Center Renovation

In 2024, Bates County Memorial Hospital remodeled an existing space to provide expanded space for cancer care services and other therapies at BCMH. Named for platinum donor and one of Bates County’s longest serving physicians, the Curtis W. Long, MD and Gay L. Nissen, RN Infusion Center has provided a much-needed care and a soothing, private environment for patients to receive treatment. BCCHF donated $10,000 toward the purchase of patient recliners, and an additional $3,000 from their annual golf tournament that same year.

Foundation contribution: $13,000
