BCMH Auxiliary Volunteers

About Our Volunteers

Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) Auxiliary Volunteers are a special group of men and women who come together for one purpose: to provide support to the hospital staff and raise money to purchase medical equipment and room furnishings.

In additional to daily tasks, volunteers also oversee projects like their annual Operation Sock-It-To-Me campaign, recognition events for employees, and several fundraisers throughout the year.

Auxiliary Gift Shop

The Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) Gift Shop is located in the front lobby of the hospital and is open Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm. The gift shop is managed and operated by Auxiliary volunteers. Revenue from the Gift Shop assists in funding needed items and equipment for the hospital.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Help patients check in
Keep wheelchairs sanitized
Escort visitors to appointments
Sell merchandise in the gift shop

Just four hours a week can make a big difference! Plus, volunteers host several fundraising events, and together with gift shop proceeds, we provide essential equipment that enhances patient care.

As thanks, our volunteers enjoy a free lunch on volunteer days, along with discounts in the gift shop and on select medical services.

History

We are proud of the accomplishments of our Auxiliary. They were recognized as “Auxiliary of the Year in 1999″ by the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA) of Hospital Auxiliaries for their exceptional efforts in a small hospital. The Auxiliary was also awarded “Auxiliary of the Year in 2005.” In December 2011, our Auxiliary received the honor of being number one for a hospital Auxiliary under 60 members at the MHA state convention.
