BCMH Cares Mammogram Fundraiser

Help Local Women Get Breast Cancer Screenings

The 2023 BCMH Cares Fundraiser was a collaborative effort for a group of our employees: (from left) Cassie Irick, Patient Access; Andrea Jackson, Marketing/PR Coordinator; Angelia Cumpton, LPN, Chronic Care Nurse, and Kristi Gaylord, RHIT, Assistant HIM Director.

This t-shirt fundraiser has completed, thank you for your support!

Our employees care about helping our family, friends and neighbors fight breast cancer, and one of the ways we do that is to support the BCMH Cares Mammogram Fund. Once again, we ask our community to join us in supporting the second annual BCMH Cares T-shirt fundraiser. This year’s design for the T-Shirt Fundraiser was selected by way of an employee art contest. A few BCMH employees collaborated on the design process, but the final selection was made by one of our own who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. When we asked her if she would enjoy casting the deciding vote on this year’s design, she said she would.

Angelia Cumpton, LPN is a Chronic Care Nurse with Family Care Clinics, and she recently completed what she hopes will be final treatments for breast cancer. The winning design selected by Angelia was a mixed media piece created by Cassie Irick, Patient Access, who works in our Emergency Department. Cassie’s drawing was formatted for print on fabric by Custom Creations.

What is the BCMH Cares Mammogram Fund?

Most health insurance plans cover the entire cost of annual mammography screening, but women with no health insurance often skip these important screenings. Thanks to a special fund at Bates County Memorial Hospital called BCMH Cares, uninsured and underinsured women who need a screening mammogram can get this imaging service at no out-of-pocket cost – including follow up imaging services, when indicated.
