Celebrating Heart Health

Celebrating Heart Health: Our Local Heart Experts and the Importance of Preventative & Rehabilitative Care

Our Cardiac Rehab Team: Patti Stienbarger, RRT, BS; Andrea Davis, RN and Jacque Waite, RN, Supervisor

February is the perfect time to celebrate heart health, and this month, we want to shine a spotlight not only on our Cardiac Rehabilitation team but also on our entire cardiovascular care team during Cardiovascular Professionals Week (February 9-15). This week, we recognize and thank the dedicated professionals who help guide our patients to better heart health, both through preventative care and rehabilitation after a heart event.

At the heart of our Cardiac Rehabilitation department is a team committed to helping patients recover and thrive. Our dedicated cardiac rehab professionals guide patients through a comprehensive recovery program, helping them regain strength, stamina, and confidence. Many of our patients continue to benefit from our maintenance program, which keeps their hearts strong long-term.

To further enhance the care we provide, we’ve recently made some updates to the Cardiac Rehab space. Later this month, we’ll be installing new flooring to brighten and refresh the environment for our patients. We’re also bidding farewell to our beloved mid-century modern table (with chrome edging, of course!)—which has served us well over the years, but it was time for a change. Our patients are already enjoying the improved space, and we look forward to providing continued top-notch care in this updated setting.

But our work doesn’t stop there. During Cardiovascular Professionals Week, we also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our entire Cardiology clinic team. Dr. Jeffrey Bissing, DO, Cardiologist, along with his exceptional nursing team—Makenna Page, RN, and Emily Noble, RN—work tirelessly to provide expert care for our community. Whether it’s through preventative screenings, diagnostic testing, or ongoing management of heart conditions, their dedication ensures our patients receive the best possible care.

Additionally, we want to recognize our Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Doneda Swenson and Megan Reach, who assist patients through crucial diagnostic testing in our Imaging Services department. Their expertise plays a key role in helping us assess heart health and make informed decisions for treatment.

When it comes to optimal heart health, it’s important to remember the value of both preventative and rehabilitative care. Preventing a heart event is just as important as rehabilitating afterward. With services from our Cardiology clinic and Cardiac Rehab team, we help ensure our patients have the resources they need to maintain and restore heart health.

A huge thank you to all the cardiovascular professionals on our team for their commitment to heart health—and to our patients for trusting us with their care. Let’s continue to keep those hearts strong!
