Paige and Ida Achieve RN Milestone

Growing Our Own: Two Familiar Faces Earn Their RN

At Bates County Memorial Hospital, we love to celebrate the accomplishments of our team, especially when we’ve had the privilege of watching their growth firsthand.

This summer, we’re proud to recognize two of our own, Paige Switzer and Ida Jolliff, who both earned their nursing degrees from Crowder College in May and have officially become registered nurses.

Throughout their nursing education, both Paige and Ida worked in our Emergency Department — Paige as a CNA and phlebotomist, and Ida as a CNA after previously serving as a housekeeper at BCMH. Each of them brought dedication, compassion, and a strong work ethic to their roles, even while balancing the demands of school.

Ida successfully passed her state board exam in June and has already transitioned into her role as a full-time RN in the Emergency Department. Paige followed shortly after, passing her boards in July and joining our ED team as a full-time RN as well.

Their success is a testament to the value of growing healthcare careers close to home — and to the power of community support. Both Paige and Ida received healthcare scholarships from the Bates County Community Health Foundation (BCCHF) during their nursing education. These scholarships are funded by local donations and annual fundraisers to support the next generation of health care professionals in Bates County.

Congratulations, Paige and Ida. We’re proud to have you on the BCMH team, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of your journey!
