Dr. Namin said Dr. William Joyce, General Surgeon for BCMH, was instrumental in raising his interest in providing gastroenterological care in Bates County. On his first visit to the hospital, Dr. Namin was very impressed that the rural community boasted such a large facility with a modern surgical suite and extensive services.
Dr. Namin attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Health and Science Chicago Medical School, and the American University School of Medicine. He received his Master’s Degree in medical sciences and his medical degree in 1995. He then joined a research fellowship program at the University of Illinois, Division of Hematology and Oncology.
In 1998, Dr. Namin moved to Kansas City, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Kansas University Medical Center. He has done extensive research and is published in areas of functional bowel and motility disorders.
