Bates County Memorial Hospital provides 911 Ambulance services staffed 24/7 by Advanced Life Support Paramedics utilizing four ambulances to cover a 900 square-mile area with approximately 18,000 residents. Residents of Bates County and surrounding areas are fortunate to have a professional ambulance service that can provide emergent care in the field, at homes, businesses and at the scene of car accidents.

Time is considered an essential determinant especially for the initial care of trauma patients.  At Bates County Memorial Hospital, Paramedics are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Trauma Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

The ambulance service functions under protocols that include RSI, CPAP and 12-lead ECG use in the field. ECGs may be sent from the ambulance directly to any email address, including hospital emergency rooms and physician offices.

Air Medical Transport Services

At Bates County Memorial Hospital, emergency patients may be transferred by air ambulance due to life-threatening situations. The hospital utilizes the services of air medical transport services including LifeFlight Eagle Air Ambulance.
