Dr. Mark Galant and Dr. Donald Clement Honored on Retirement
Bates County Memorial Hospital honored two visiting specialists upon their retirement this month: Dr. Mark Galant, Hospitalist and Dr. Donald Clement, Gastroenterologist. Receptions were held in their honor so our employees could thank these doctors for bringing their care to our community.
Dr. Mark Galant, hospitalist, was honored with a retirement reception at BCMH on July 7. Dr. Galant has been part of a team of hospitalist physicians dedicated to inpatient care. This service began in 2015, and Dr. Galant was the lead physician of the hospitalist program when BCMH first adopted it in collaboration with Saint Luke’s Health System and Saint Luke’s Physician Specialists. This program brought a more advanced level of inpatient care to the community, and we thank Dr. Galant for his service.
Dr. Donald Clement, a visiting specialist, has been traveling to Bates County to provide gastroenterology care in the hospital’s Outpatient Specialty Clinics since 1994.
At a reception in his honor on July 12, he said, “I have a lot of affection for Bates County. It’s hard for me to leave here, because it’s the people that kept me here, the patients and the employees.”
Dr. Clement commented that our community is in good hands for gastro care at BCMH with Dr. Frank Totta and Dr. Todd Kilgore, gastroenterologists, and Dr. William Joyce, general surgeon.
BCMH thanks Dr. Clement for 28 years of care for our community.
