Annual Health Fair is October 2

Fall Into Health Fair – October 2, 2-6 pm

BCMH Education Center | 615 W. Nursery St., Butler

Fall is a season of gathering, of harvest, abundance, and bringing home what’s good. At our annual Fall Into Health Fair, you can do the same for your health by hand-picking the resources, screenings, and savings that matter most to you.

This year, we’re adding something fresh with nutritious food demonstrations—featuring tips on keeping food fresh for longer, plus a Veggie & Fruit Carving Demo that shows how a little creativity can make healthy eating more fun (and more likely to be enjoyed) by the whole family.

UPDATE: We have added a few new booths: a skin analyzer that reveals areas of sun damage not visible to the naked eye, and an information booth on an exciting new service coming soon to Rehabilitation Services — Dry Needling for muscle pain relief.

Learn More About Lab Tests and Screenings

A1C,  $ 5.00

Testing for A1C measures your average blood sugar levels over the past two to three months. It’s an important tool for managing diabetes or prediabetes. A1C results help you understand how well your blood sugar is controlled, which can prevent complications like heart disease and nerve damage.

Glucose, $2.50

A glucose test measures the amount of sugar in your blood at the moment of the test. It’s often used to screen for diabetes, monitor blood sugar levels, or check for low or high blood sugar. This test is helpful for anyone who wants a quick snapshot of their blood sugar health.

Cholesterol, $2.50

A cholesterol blood test checks your levels of good (HDL) and bad (LDL) cholesterol. Knowing these levels helps you understand your heart health, and it aides your doctor to understand how your body is processing fats.

Vitamin D, $10.00

Vitamin D is vital for strong bones, a healthy immune system, and overall well-being. If your levels are low, it can lead to issues like fatigue or bone pain. Knowing your vitamin D status allows you to make changes, like adjusting your diet or spending more time in the sun, to keep your health in check.

TSH, $ 2.50

Testing for TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone) levels helps you understand how well your thyroid is working. The thyroid plays a key role in regulating your metabolism, energy levels, and overall health. If your TSH levels are too high or too low, it can indicate thyroid issues, which may lead to symptoms like fatigue, weight changes, or mood swings. Knowing your TSH levels allows you to take steps to manage any thyroid problems and maintain your health!

PSA, $2.50 (Men over 50)

The PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) test measures a protein made by the prostate gland. Elevated levels can be a sign of prostate enlargement, infection, or prostate cancer. This test is most useful for men over 50 as part of routine prostate health screening.

Carotid Artery (Ultrasound), $60

This ultrasound screening will be performed on the day of the Health Fair and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Don’t miss this opportunity to receive this discounted screening price exclusively during the event!

A carotid ultrasound tests for blocked or narrowed carotid arteries, which can increase the risk of stroke. The results of the test can help your health care provider determine a treatment to lower your stroke risk.
